MANOR — It was a dominant effort all evening Friday, Feb. 9 as the Taylor High School girls varsity soccer team as the Lady Patos powered their way to a 7-0 district shutout victory against Manor New Tech High School.
During a match in which the Lady Patos’ team defense completely shut down the Lady Titans, Taylor erupted for four firsthalf goals and added three more in the second half.
Lady Patos junior standout Kaleigh Woods continued her strong 2024 season for Taylor as she scored four goals, freshman Kaylie Sanchez had two goals and fellow freshman Kaitlin Crane added a score of her own.
Assisting on goals for Taylor were Crane with two, freshman Analisa Arredondo with a pair of assists and Woods with one in the lopsided win over New Tech.
Taylor (9-6 overall, 4-1 district record) under Head Coach Jose Flores is scheduled Feb. 13 for a 4A-District 24 home match versus Caldwell High School and will be off until Tuesday, Feb. 20 at 7:30 p.m. when the Lady Patos host rival Rockdale High School.
