Freeze returns Friday

Winter isn’t done with Taylor quite yet. Forecasts as of Tuesday, March 8, predicted at least one night of freezing temperatures heading into the weekend. The Taylor Texas Weather Network projected a low 28 degrees for Friday, March 11.

“A strong front is forecast to move through the area late Thursday night (March 10) or Friday morning,” said the National Weather Service Austin/San Antonio Office. “Much colder and windy conditions developing Friday and Friday night. There is a high confidence of a late-season hard freeze occurring Friday night through Saturday morning (March 12) across the entire Hill Country and a low to moderate confidenc of a light freeze across most of the remainder of the area.”

Ahead of the front, the Taylor area is set to have mostly sunny weather Wednesday and Thursday, March 9-10. Highs will jump from 60 degrees on Wednesday to 71 on Thursday with lows around 40 degrees.

Friday should be cool and cloudy with a 50% chance of rain and high of 43 degrees. The sun should return Saturday and Sunday, March 13, with respective highs of 56 and 69 degrees. Saturday night’s mercury might plummet to a freezing 32 degrees, but Sunday’s drop is forecast in the mid 40s.

Upper 70s return to the forecast Monday, March 14.
