AUSTIN — The Taylor High School boys varsity basketball team continued 4A-District 22 action Friday, Feb. 9 as the Ducks went on the road and cruised to a 64-38 victory against Austin Achieve High School.

This was a game that Taylor needed to handle business in to stay in the district playoff seeding race and the Ducks did just that against the Polar Bears.

Ducks senior standout Treos Richardson did it all as he had a team-high 19 points on an efficient 8-of-11 shooting from the field, three rebounds, three steals, two assists and one blocked shot. Taylor junior Kylon Harris also scored in double figures with 10 points, four rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block.

In an all-around solid game, junior T.J. Whybrew had nine points, seven rebounds, three assists and three steals. Ducks freshman Landon Coulter also scored nine points and had three steals, while sophomore Kadrien Deary added seven points, four steals, two rebounds and two assists in the win over Achieve.

Taylor (12-17 overall, 7-4 district record) under Head Coach Stephen Gibson is currently the No. 4 seed and is scheduled Feb. 13 for a pivotal district game at Manor New Tech High School.
