BOUND TO GLORY

One of Thrall’s most used streets that runs past school buildings has graduated with an upgrade. “To kind of see the town and the school, you realize how important the street is and that it works well,” said Williamson County Precinct 4 Commissioner Russ Boles.

One of Thrall’s most used streets that runs past school buildings has graduated with an upgrade.

“To kind of see the town and the school, you realize how important the street is and that it works well,” said Williamson County Precinct 4 Commissioner Russ Boles.

On Monday, Feb. 28, Williamson County held a ribbon cutting for South Bounds Street. The road recently received improvements.

“Days like today are great to be able to come in and work with the city of Thrall on the repaving of South Bounds Street, “ said Boles. “It’s an important street to the city of Thrall, it’s important for Thrall Independent School District and it’s just an honor to be able to complete a project for the citizens of Thrall. I’m really excited about it.”

Boles thanked Mayor Troy Marx, Thrall ISD Superintendent Tommy Hooker, city staff and members of the school district for their help during the process.

The project included pavement reconstruction, drainage improvements and an overlay of the road from Railroad Avenue to south of East Eckhart Avenue in front of Thrall ISD buildings.

The design engineer was RS&H, and Chasco Constructors was the contractor. The $889,988 endeavor was funded through voter-approved 2019 road bonds.

“One of the projects that was important to me to make sure that it got on that bond was a project for Thrall,” said Boles, “and it has ended up being the pavement and drainage improvements down Bounds Street.”
