HUTTO — The Hutto High School boys varsity soccer team was in action Friday, Feb. 2 at home and the Hippos knocked off Harker Heights High School 3-0 for their first 6A-District 12 victory.
The Hippos netted one goal in the first half and tacked on two more scores in the second half against the Knights.
Hutto junior Edmond Elone scored wice in the match twice victory over Harker Heights, senior Cristian De La Torre also netted one goal and freshman Sebastian Gonzalez assisted on one of the goals.
In the net, Hippos junior goalkeeper Kevin Vasquez held his own in the shutout victory as Hutto’s team defense locked in throughout the night.
Hutto (3-2-2 overall, 1-1 district record) under Head Coach Joshua Johnson is scheduled Feb. 6 to travel to Temple High School and will return home Friday, Feb. 9 at 7:15 p.m. to host Copperas Cove High School.
