HARKER HEIGHTS — The Hutto High School girls varsity soccer team picked up its first 6A-District 12 victory in dominant fashion Friday, Feb. 2 as the Lady Hippos went on the road and cruised to a 6-0 win against Harker Heights High School.
After going up 2-0 in the first half, the Lady Hippos weren’t done in the second half against the host Lady Knights as Hutto added four more goals to its tally.
Hutto sophomore Ashley Guild scored twice for the Lady Hippos, freshman Mia Nelson added a pair of goals of her own, junior Kaylee Hernandez scored and sophomore Alicia Izquierdo netted one goal in the dominant effort.
Behind a strong defensive performance, Lady Hippos senior goalkeeper Kamila Aguilar was a force in the net as she stopped all six shots on goal by the Lady Knights.
Hutto (4-5-1 overall, 1-1 district record) under Head Coach Courtney Mallon is scheduled Feb. 6 to host Temple High School and will travel Friday, Feb. 9 at 7:15 p.m. to take on Copperas Cove High School.
