ROCKDALE — The Taylor High School girls varsity soccer team started 4A-District 24 play with a bang Friday, Jan. 26 as the Lady Patos went on the road and handled business with a 1-0 victory against rival Rockdale High School.

In the first half, Taylor got its lone goal of the night from sophomore Tessa Kopecky and was assisted by junior Kaleigh Woods on the score. The Lady Patos’ defense was superb the whole match and kept the host Lady Tigers off the scoreboard with a shutout in a hardfought effort.

Taylor (6-5 overall, 1-0 district record) under Head Coach Jose Flores is scheduled Jan. 30 to host Smithville High School and will travel Friday, Feb. 2 at 5:15 p.m. for a match against district frontrunner Giddings High School.
