Rosa Carreon Salyer

Rosa Carreon Salyer entered this world Dec.

28, 1934, in San Antonio, as the daughter of Minnie and Castulo Carreon. Her life was shaped by her independent spirit and her enduring strength, and it concluded peacefully Jan.

19, 2024, at the age of 89 in Taylor.

In these final moments, she was at her daughter’s home and was surrounded by love.

Rosa was a rancher and cattlewoman. She raised a loving family, worked the land well and always followed God. She loved the sound of rain and dancing with her friends. Forever the life of the party, she would always be down for a road trip and a margarita on the rocks.

She has traveled the US from coast to coast. Never wanting to say goodbye, we now bid her farewell, her spirit continuous to inspire and guide us. Rest in peace, Rosa. We will make sure all fences are mended and the gates are closed. Your memory will eternally be a cherished part of our lives.

Rosa now reunites in heaven with her beloved parents, Minnie and Castulo; husband, Jack Salyer; former husband, Vidal Salas; and son, Robert Salas Sr.

Rosa’s legacy is one of love and enduring memories. She is lovingly remembered by her devoted daughter, Yolanda (Arthur) Luna; daughter in-law, Amelia Salas; grandchildren, Stacey Salas Moreno (Frederick), Vidal Salas (Clara), Robert Salas Jr. (Stephanie) and Jacquelyn Luna Hernandez (Christopher). Rosa had four adoring great-grandchildren, Noah Salas, Summer Moreno, Lillyanna Salas and Thomas Hernandez.

The family would like to especially thank Tina Salazar, Colleen Qualls, Abundance Homecare, and Kindful Hospice for their kindness and compassion.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 26, at Providence Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service at IOOF Cemetery, 1117 E 7th St. in Georgetown.
