Jan. 24, 1990 — Pat Riley became the 13th coach to reach the 500-victory mark, getting there faster than any other coach before him. Riley led his Los Angeles Lakers to a 120-111 win over the Indiana Pacers. Riley would go on to finish his coaching career with a record of 1,904-1,210 with five NBA Championships.
