Thrall and Granger hit marks at Buffalo Relays

This past Monday, March 7, Granger and Thrall participated in the Buffalo Relays in Florence.

The Lions and Tigers finished third and fourth, respectively, while the Tigerettes and Lady Lions took first and third place in their team efforts.

Tripp Wilkie took first place for Granger in the high jump with a height of 5-10. Thrall’s Tyler Bonkowski took first place in the discus event with a distance of 108-9.

Second place individual performances included Johnny Ryder in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11:65, Jacob Grissom in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 16:88 and the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 43:39. Grissom additionally placed second in the long jump with a distance of 18 feet, and third in the triple jump with a distance of 88-8 ½.  DJ McClelland took second place in the triple jump with a distance of 39-6 ½.

Granger’s Lucas Matta took third in the 400-meter with a time of 53:29. Matta also took third in the long jump with a distance of 17-7 ½. Donnie Cantwell tied for third in the high jump with a height of 5-4. Thrall’s Ethan Dahl took third in the 1600-meter run with a time of 5:29.27

In the team events, Granger took second in the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 44:92, fourth in the 4x200 meter relay with a time of 1:40.74 and third in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:47.32.

The Tigers placed fourth in the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 46.64, third in the 4x200 meter relay with a time of 1:40.74 and fourth in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:54.33.

First-place finishers for the Tigerettes included very Koonce in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.46, and Sarah Laurence in the 800-meter with a time of 2:33.29 and the 3200-meter with a time of 12:52.38. Ja’Kayla Reese finished first for the Lady Lions in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 18.27.

Second-place individual performances included, from Thrall, Mia Moellenberg in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.90, Cali Johnson in the 400-meter with a time of 1:09.09, Laurence in the 800-meter with a time of 2:33.29, Aaliyah Couch in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 18.96 and Kassandra Jackson in the high jump with a height of 4-8. 

Third-place finishers from Thrall included Amber Kevil in the 200-meter with a time of 29.91, Kennedy Yanez in the 3200-meter with a time of 15:47.68 and Addison Leschber in the discus with a distance of 91-3.

In team events, Thrall finished first in the 4x100, 4x200 and 4x400-meter relays. The Lady Lions took third in the 4x100, second in the 4x200 and fifth in the 4x400.

Both schools will be back on the track on Thursday, March 24, in Thorndale.
