TAYLOR POLICE DEPARTMENT ARREST REPORT

It is important to note that an arrest should not be considered as evidence of guilt. The defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

JAN. 1

Christopher Lucio, 31, of Taylor, at 8:55 p.m., in the 500 block of Carlos Parker Blvd. SE, officers placed Lucio under arrest, charging him with driving while intoxicated, a class B misdemeanor.

Troy Green, 30, of Taylor, at 2:50 p.m., in the 100 block of W. Lake Dr., officers apprehended Green, who had an outstanding warrant out of Taylor for assault with injury/family violence with previous convictions, a thirddegree felony.

JAN. 3

Eduviges Avita, 54, of Taylor, at 5:14 p.m., Wal-Mart, at 3701 N. Main St., officers responded to a report of a theft. An investigation revealed Avita stole items from the store. Avita was placed under arrest and charged with theft over $100, a class B misdemeanor.

JAN. 4

Reyes Jimenez, 33, of Taylor, at 1:54 p.m., officers learned Jimenez was arrested by another agency for an outstanding warrant out of Taylor (expired driver’s license, a class C misdemeanor.) JAN. 5

Carric Mercer, 34, of Taylor, at 10:51 a.m., officers learned Mercer was arrested by another agency for an outstanding warrant out of Taylor (accident involving injury, a third-degree felony.) On 12/23/23 at 10:04 a.m., TPD officers responded to a major crash in the 2500 block of north Main St in front of McDonald’s involving a bicyclist and a motor vehicle in which the driver of the vehicle fled the scene. The victim sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries. An investigation revealed Mercer was the driver. Taylor Officers, in consultation with the Williamson County District Attorney’s Office, obtained a warrant for the arrest of Mercer.

JAN. 6

Jeremiah Oropeza, 17, of Taylor, at 8:00 a.m., in the 800 block of Rices Crossing Rd., Oropeza turned himself in on an outstanding warrant out of Williamson County (bond forfeiture- possession of controlled substance, penalty group 1 over 1 gram, a third-degree felony.)

Officers placed Oropeza under arrest for the warrant.

JAN. 7

Steven Ortiz, 25, of Taylor, at 4:25 p.m., in the 3300 block of N. Main St., officers conducted a traffic stop on Ortiz, who was found to be in possession of Xanax. Ortiz was placed under arrest and charged with possession of controlled substance, penalty group 3, less than 28 grams, a class A misdemeanor.
