THRALL — Ashlyn Jarosek continued her torrid scoring pace in district games Tuesday night, scoring 23 points to lead the Thrall Tigerettes (11-12 overall, 3-0 District 27-2A) to a 63-23 rout of the Bartlett Lassies. Jarosek entered the game averaging 22 points in the Tigerettes’ previous two district contests and she currently leads Thrall with 13.5 points per game for the season.
The outcome of Tuesday’s game was never in question. The Tigerettes led 7-2 to open the game and never looked back. Jarosek scored eight in the opening period, while CeCe Walker scored seven for the Tigerettes and Thrall 23-7 after the first quarter of play.
It was more of the same in the second quarter, but balanced scoring kept the Thrall offense moving. Jarosek, Kinley Hoffman and Nevaeh Irvin each scored four in the Tigerettes’ 18-point second period and Thrall took a 41-14 lead into the locker room at the half.
Jarosek scored nearly half of her points in the third quarter, scoring 11 of the Tigerettes’ 15 points. Jarosek hit five of six shots from the field in the third, and defensively, the Tigerettes held Bartlett to two field goals on just 14 percent shooting.
Thrall coasted through the final period but still outscored the Lassies 7-4 in the quarter to secure the win.
In addition to Jarosek’s scoring, Thrall also secured 13 points from Hoffman, while Walker and Irvin tallied nine and eight, respectively. Walker also contributed nine rebounds for the Tigerettes. Thrall was on the road Friday when they traveled to Holland to face the Lady Hornets (7-8, 1-2). The Tigerettes will return home on Tuesday to host the Hearne Lady Eagles.
