New Year, new beginnings

'I'm going to make everything around me beautiful. That will be my life.'

New year, new beginnings, new chances and new goals. What if we make it our goal to live more? What if we decide to be kind to ourselves and to others, to take pride in quality work and also enjoy quality time?

What if success was measured by how much self care we practice, how well we sleep, how easy we make new friends, how much we support ourselves and others, how many books we read, how much time we spend with loved ones, how many beautiful memories we make?

You are the CEO of your life. It’s up to you to define what success looks like for you.

Here is our first shoutout of the year: “I purchased a car in San Antonio a few months back. The previous owner lived in a state that doesn’t require a front license plate. The dealership told me they’d install for free when I came to pick up my plates, and then proceeded to mail me the plates. I got the dealership to send me a mount, but they didn’t include any mounting hardware, and I didn’t feel like a threehour round-trip to get it

installed. As a next effort, I took my car over to the service crew at Covert in Hutto. Unfortunately, they weren’t much help, and basically told me I’d need to do it myself. At this point, I was pretty discouraged, but decided to go to the AutoZone in town to see if they had what I needed to get the job done. The gentleman working, Joe W., not only talked through what I’d need to get the job done, he asked me if I had anyone to help me install. After telling him I was planning to watch YouTube videos and do it myself, he walks out to his van and gets his tools and proceeds to spend 15 minutes helping me get my plate installed so I’m street legal. When two separate dealerships weren’t keen on helping me, I’m so very grateful for the kindness of Joe. This has been a nagging issue for several weeks, and I feel so relieved to have this checked off my list before I start my new job and commute next week. I love this small town.”
