Students play into the holidays

Anita Volek and Debbie Matthys presented their students in a joint-Christmas piano recital Tuesday Dec. 12, in the Worship Center of First Baptist Church on Mallard Lane.

The evening of piano solos and duets featured traditional holiday favorites.

Volek opened the recital with a Jim Brickman arrangement of “O Holy Night.”

Volek’s students participating in the musical festivities included Elsa Anderson, Demi Dahlberg, Fiona Dahlberg, Scarlett Dahlberg, Solomon Eiben, Sophia Rae Eiben, Vivian Eiben, Juliette Havens, Allison Mahmood, Luke Manuel, J.

D. Morgan and Grace Philhower.

Lera Rost was unable to attend.

Matthys’ students included Jacob Geske, Preslee Lynch, Mehvish Thahim and Jace Wilkins.
