Prayer Breakfast

THORNDALE – Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 107 E. Church St. in Thorndale will host a prayer breakfast Saturday, Jan. 6 at the church. Continental breakfast is from 7:30 to 8 a.m., followed by a program from 8 to 9 a.m.

Chamber Awards Banquet The Greater Taylor Chamber of Commerce will host is annual awards banquet Tuesday, Jan. 16 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Williamson County Expo Center, 5350 Bill Picket Trail in Taylor. Texas Daytripper, Chet Garner will be the guest speaker. The banquet is Taylor’s premier leadership event as it highlights the community’s mostaccomplished businesses, dignitaries and volunteers. This event features awards for Rotary’s Citizen of the Year, TAB’s Outstanding Woman of the Year and Chamber Customer Service and Business of the Year.

Run for the Roses

The Taylor Garden Club will host its 13th annual Run for the Roses 5K/10K Saturday, Jan. 20 at 8 a.m. beginning in Murphy Park. Taylor Garden Club provides scholarships for students who are pursuing careers in ecology, horticulture, landscaping, arbor and forestry studies, as well as other career fields relating to growing things. The Garden Club also works closely with the city of Taylor and the parks system to assist with planned tree and garden plantings and maintenance. Walk of Fame

HUTTO – Saturday, Jan. 27 — From 5-10 p.m., the Hutto Chamber of Commerce will put on a red carpet event at Kalahari Resorts and Conventions in the lower-level ball room, 3001 Kalahari Blvd. The event will honor outstanding businesses, organizations and citizens.
