HUTTO – On Dec. 4, Hutto Economic Development Corp. took to executive session to discuss a notice of default served by Titan Mega Land Investors LLC. Just a few weeks later, Dec. 22, the city announced the Hutto EDC and Titan had reached a new agreement and were happy to continue their partnership.
“The [HEDC] and Titan Development have fully executed a new agreement for the development of land within the Hutto Megasite. The new document, Letter of Agreement and Notice to Proceed, moves the Hutto EDC out of default on the property and paves the way for development to progress,” read a release from the city.
The default was attributed mainly to hold-ups in the construction of an east-west access road, called the Spine Road. Hutto EDC recently named Jordan Foster construction as the contractor for the road.
“I am pleased with the positive outcome of the recent resolution with the Hutto EDC and eagerly anticipate the continued successful
partnership in future developments,” Texas-based Partner at Titan Development Joe Iannacone said.
The city’s statement alluded to design changes for the road as well as provisions for an additional connection to FM 3349, future phasing of additional lanes for the spine road and an access point to CR 132. The changes are not expected to delay construction, and the road is scheduled for completion by fall 2024.
