SPECIAL TO THE PRESS
GEORGETOWN — A new person is in charge of Williamson County’s elections.
Bridgette Escobedo was named to the position at the Dec. 14 meeting of the Williamson County Elections Commission, according to a Williamson County press release.
Escobedo will start in her position on Jan. 2, 2024.
“I am honored and thrilled to join Williamson County as your new elections administrator,” Escobedo said. “I look forward to joining such a talented and dedicated elections team to provide the voters of Wilco free, fair and accurate elections.”
Escobedo served as the director of the Travis County Elections Division for the past four years.
The press release said she was responsible for elections in the fifthlargest county in Texas with almost one million registered voters in that capacity. She oversaw an annual budget of $4.2 million and was responsible for the direct supervision of the division staff. Prior to that, she was the elections administrator for Bastrop County.
“Bridgette Escobedo has a wealth of knowledge in the elections field and will be well-equipped to lead our Williamson County Elections Department,” County Judge Bill Gravell said.
