It takes a village

GOOD NEWS

It takes a village to heal a heart. It takes a village to hold a heart. It takes a village to grow that heart. It takes a village to appreciate that heart.

It takes a village to share that heart.

And it takes such a heart to heal a village.

To hold a village.

To grow a village.

To appreciate a village.

To share that village with another heart.

“One evening last week, I was parked at Taylor’s Dairy Queen waiting on a drive-thru window order for the railroad crew, so the staff could help the customers behind me.

A member of the Taylor Police Department pulled up and asked if I needed help, because I had my emergency lights flashing. I was so impressed with this act of service. Know there’s usually more complaints than compliments, so I just wanted to say thank you for caring”

“Been thinking way too much these last couple days, months, weeks and years. This sweet ornament was given to my daughter by one of my mom’s friends. Last week I ‘fixed’ it. The original cupcake holder was trash and one of the beads was close to falling off. I felt very accomplished by such a small task. This past week I’ve gotten so many compliments, my hair, my willingness to help, was called brilliant, to name a few.

Those statements may have seemed simple or just a little thing to the person saying it, but to me, they’ve meant so much. Kindness matters. This little gift years ago mattered.”
