HUTTO — The Hutto High School girls varsity basketball team has entered December following a recent blowout victory hosting Lampasas High School and close 44-36 road loss against the Lady Bulldogs of Burnet High School.

Under Lady Hippos Head Coach Samantha Guerrero, Hutto put it all together Nov. 21 in a lopsided 65-41 win at home against the Lady Badgers of Lampasas.

In a game that Hutto pulled away from Lampasas down the stretch of the second half, the Lady Hippos were led by a doubledouble effort from senior Charlize Williams with a game-high 24 points, seven rebounds, four blocked shots, four steals and two assists. Fellow senior Alyssa Batton also had a double-double against the Lady Badgers with 17 points, 10 assists, five rebounds and two steals.

Hutto junior Saniyah McCallister scored in double figures with 11 points and knocked down three shots from behind the arc, while senior Avery Hamby had six points and three assists of her own in the 24-point win over Lampasas.

The Lady Hippos (6-10 overall record) were scheduled to return home Dec. 1 to host Stony Point High School and will also play Leander Glenn High School this upcoming Tuesday. Hutto will then start 6A-District 12 play on the road Dec. 8 at Midway High School.
