Alicia “Alice Pachicano” Tellez

Alicia “Alice Pachicano” Tellez, loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, at the age of 69, took her final breath here and her first breath at her new home, as she entered into heaven and into the arms of Jesus, Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2023. She was born to Jim and Juanita Pachicano Feb. 1, 1954.

Alice’s passion and first priority in her life was her relationship with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, with whom she is now seated in heaven with. She was an example to others for her faith in Christ. This faith was central in her life. Strong woman of great faith.

No matter the pain and the sufferings she endured over the years, she pressed on forward on the race of faith, towards the finish line, where her crown and her loving Jesus was awaiting her.

Alice had a deep desire for others to share in this love and relationship with Jesus. This included foremost her family of whom she wanted all to have an abiding, enduring love for God. She never met a stranger that she did not share the Gospel of Christ’s love with, whether at her work place, the grocery stores and later in her life, from a hospital bed or an appointment.

Rising up early to prepare for the day and making sure her family had what they needed, Alice was an illustration of a Proverbs 31 woman. Though she was not perfect, there was no doubt in the hearts of her family that they were dearly loved and treasured.

Alice was an active member of Revelation of Christ Church in Taylor, where over the years she taught Sunday school to the children. Her little ones, under her guidance and nurturing, grew to have a love for God and His Word. She brought joy, laughter and smiles to their faces, with many affectionately calling her Grandma Alice or friend.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Manuel Pachicano and Oscar Saucedo; nephews, Michael Pachicano, John Flores, Robert Pachicano Jr. and Paul Pachicano; nieces, May Flores and Nora Pachicano; and brothers-in-law, Raymond Lopez and Adolph Flores.

She is survived by her husband, Jose Ramon Tellez Sr., to whom she was married for 40 years; her two sons, Jesse (Janelle) Ruiz and Jose (Katie) Tellez Jr.; her two daughters, Angela (Zae) Ruiz-Farías and Erica (Nick) Gonzales; plus her special honorary, daughter – her granddaughter, Aliyah Ruiz; her grandchildren, Jesse Jr, Jazmine, Christian, Heaven, Layla, Caden, Julio Jr., Marialicia, Noeliyah, Liliana, Olivia, Jack, Alexander and Josiah. She is also survived by her eight siblings, Marcie Alderete, Martha Flores, Pat (Lazaro) Pina, Janie Lopez, Jesse (Lucy) Pachicano, Alifonsa (Richard) Martinez, Rachel (Raymond) Ortiz, Mary (Guillermo) Guerrero, Frank (Jean) Pachicano, Robert (Debbie) Pachicano and Sandra (Joseph) Camarda; and numerous nieces and nephews and beloved friends.

Pallbearers will be Manuel Pachicano Jr., Jesse Ruiz Sr., Jesse Ruiz Jr., Jose Tellez Jr., Nick Gonzales, Julio Palomo Jr., Julian Pachicano and Paul Dominguez.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6, at Providence Funeral Home in Taylor. The celebration of life service will be held Thursday Dec. 7, at 10 a.m. at Providence Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Taylor City Cemetery.

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
