I am taking a moment this weekend to be thankful for our community, the people who try to make it better and the blessings we have.
Sometimes, in the quick changes that are happening locally, we forget that the new economic investment by Samsung Taylor is doing __________________________ for our country.
During COVID, supply chains were wrecked. We all felt it. The disruption of those supply chain made people realize the national security vulnerability our nation had created after decades of sending manufacturing outside of our borders.
One of the greatest areas of weakness was that we no longer manufactured enough micro-chips in the US to meet the basic demands, much less the demand of a national security threat.
The federal government worked with states and local governments to help close that supply gap. That why they all worked so hard to get Samsung to build in the US.
Luckily, they found Taylor with land enough to expand capacity for years to come.
Of course, Taylor is a town __________________________ cantly in more than 30 years so it is a bit uncomfortable with such quick growth.
____________________ years ago that we would __________________________ town, right?
____________________________ we have a local economy that is offering more good jobs to keep our children and our grandchildren living and thriving here.
We have people looking to invest here. We have people realizing the needs we have for job training and workforce development.
Local people are able to band together more than ever and reach listing ears who know our community and its people matter.
And it’s keeping our nation a bit safer. I am thankful.
