CASEY GEORG Special to the Press

THRALL — On Monday, the Thrall High School girls varsity basketball team (3-1) picked up its third consecutive victory as the Tigerettes rallied from a 16-8 first-quarter deficit to edge the Lady Bulldogs of Bosqueville High School by a score of 31-29.

Thrall senior Ashlyn Jarosek and Nevaeh Irvin each tallied eight points, while sophomore Cynthia Walker dropped in seven, including the go-ahead basket with less than a minute to play in the third quarter to complete the comeback.

Thrall’s defense held the taller Lady Bulldogs to just six points in the second half and Bosqueville managed to score just two points over the final eight minutes of the game.

The Tigerettes also had a dominant victory Friday night at home when Thrall cruised to a 62-37 victory over the Lady Indians of Riesel High School. In addition to Jarosek’s 16 points, the Tigerettes also got 11 points each from sophomore Kinley Hoffman and Walker, while sophomore Avery Ochoa also scored in double figures against Riesel with 10 points of her own.

Thrall was back in action Tuesday when they traveled to Taylor to face the Lady Ducks before breaking for the Thanksgiving holiday. They will host the Lexington Lady Eagles on Tuesday before taking part in the Lipan tournament beginning November 30.
