Watch out

GOOD NEWS

BY ISABELLA TEBEAU

“As you all close out one week and head into another, I want to say watch out. Today I was driving through the parking lot and six high school teens walked across the pedestrian walk in a scurry, waved and mouthed, “Thank you.” Yes, I stopped and let them pass. Yesterday, I went to some businesses, including the Farmers Market, and not only was everyone kind, helpful and cheery, they acted like they appreciated me as a fellow human and customer. Last Friday morning, I attended Greater Taylor Foundation breakfast, where a presentation of the needs of our community was welcomed by well over 100 guests who were enthusiastic and energized, and ready to support and contribute to the needs of all who live here. Thursday, I had a such a pleasant conversation with Channing, who has more passion for Shop Downtown Taylor and Howard Taylor than I believe I have ever experienced. She sold all of her inventory in her store Taylor Soap Bar because she believes in saving the old theatre. She is so full of hope and faith and inspiration. So, I urge you to watch out, you just may be the kindness someone encounters this week.” — Lara Baker “A special thank you to a neighbor, who I had never met, who works for the city and stopped by this evening on her way home from work to let me know of the progress on the water line break. She told me she wanted to be sure I had water for coffee in the morning, along with other needs of course. What a blessing.”
