The 2023 season for Taylor High School varsity volleyball was one to remember as the Lady Ducks won their first district championship title since 1988 and set a program record for wins with a 30-14 overall record.
With all four teams in 4A-District 22 eliminated over the weekend in the area round of the playoffs, the alldistrict awards were released on Tuesday and there were many Lady Ducks who were recognized.
The highest of all-district honors went to Taylor first-year Head Coach Rylee Davis, senior outside hitter Hannah Wamble and sophomore libero Makenna Watson for the Lady Ducks. Davis was named the Coach of the Year, Wamble was the Offensive Most Valuable Player and Watson was the Defensive Most Valuable Player. Wamble had 403 kills and 119 serving aces, while Watson was all over the court with 520 digs to lead Taylor.
