In his first home start in a Tigers uniform, Parker lit up the stat sheet with 309 yards passing, 214 yards rushing and a whopping eight total touchdowns against the Eagles.
“I want to thank all of my teammates, my mom, my sisters, Talia, all my coaches, all the teachers and everybody else in here,” Parker said. “I feel really supported.
After coming to a new school, everybody welcomed me and I wanted to thank everybody here.”
Parker was presented the award Wednesday afternoon by Covert Ford Hutto representatives Phillip Lopez, Stephen Hamilton, Kelly Lemmons and Joshua Parker.
Under head coach Aaron Vanecek, Parker and the Tigers (5-2 overall, 2-1 district) have a bye this week and will be back in action at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 20 in a huge rivalry match at Thorndale High School in the “Battle of 79.”
Parker continues to be a wonderful addition to Thrall as he has helped lead this Tigers squad to victories over Johnson City, Somerville High School, Florence High School, Flatonia High School and Weimar High School.
