HUTTO – During Black History Month, Farley Middle School students were invited to meet during lunch in the art and science classrooms to make Black History Month Unity Bracelets. The idea came from Chloe Anderson, a seventhgrade student at Farley, who is passionate about racial equity.

At the beginning of the bracelet-making lunch session, students discussed Black History Month, the meaning of the bracelets and color symbolism. This activity was open to students in all grades and gained a lot of excitement and interest, with more than 100 students able to make a unity bracelet.

Bracelet making was sponsored by Farley Middle School teachers Katherine Smith and Samantha Calhoun.
