Daytripper to speak at banquet
I am so excited about the annual Chamber and Community Awards Banquet on Jan.16.
It’s always a nice evening of celebrating outstanding committement to our community but this year, we will be joined by Chet Garner, the Texas Daytripper.
Chet featured Taylor on his program a few years ago and it was great reminder of how special our town is. I know he will reinvitorate us with those same kinds of reminders at the banquet.
We are going through a lot -- a lot -- of changes right now and I think Chet is the right person to remind us of what we are all working for -- continuing a dynamic history of a strong community for years and years, changes and changes to come.
Sponsorships are on sale now and individual tickets go on sale for $50 each beginning Nov. 1.
You can register on our website: www.taylorchamber. org or call us at 512352-6364 to learn more.
Don’t forget to nominate someone for Woman of the Year and Citizen of the Year. Call to learn how.
FOUNDATION REPORT When Nyle Maxwell spoke at our Power Breakfast last week, he reminded everyone that the Round Rock Community Foundation, now the Central Texas Community Foundation, was started by him (as mayor of Round Rock) and the Round Rock Chamber of Commerce.
And the Taylor Chamber is excited to be the doing the same here with the Greater Taylor Foundation.
GTF has been conducting surveys, focus groups and interviews to learn what big issues confront us as a community. The results of all those will be presented at a breakfast at 8:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 10.
We’d love to see you there! Admission is free but seats are limited. Email info@greatertaylorfoundation. org.
