BARTLETT — The Granger High School varsity volleyball team wrapped up the 2023 regular season on a high note Tuesday as the Lady Lions throttled Bartlett High School on the road in their 2A-District 26 finale.

Against the Lassies, the Lady Lions dominated in a three-set sweep with scores of 25-9, 25-11 and 25-7 to secure the victory. As a team, Granger frustrated Bartlett all match as the Lady Lions served up 20 aces as a team with five from senior Montana Moore as well as four apiece from senior Clarissa Miller and junior Sofia Bernal.

It was another great all-around match from Granger senior Tessa Burton as she led the way for the Lady Lions with a match-high nine kills, six assists and six digs while fellow senior Jaila Rollie added five kills of her own. Granger had four players with three kills apiece: Bernal, junior Kelsey Dittrich, sophomore Krista Hutka and sophomore Abigail Crouch.

Miller was all over the court for the Lady Lions as she had a teamhigh 12 assists, while junior Marissa Hall had 12 digs in the win over Bartlett on Saturday.

With a 16-17 overall record and a 4-4 mark as the No. 3 seed in the district, Granger heads into the 2A playoffs and will square off with Milano High School.

The bi-district round match will be Monday at 6 p.m. at Rockdale High School between the Lady Lions and Lady Eagles. This will be the fourth time these two teams have played each other this season as Milano has gotten the better of Granger the previous three times.
