Lone Lady Hippo runs at regionals
GRAND PRAIRIE — The Hutto High School girls varsity cross country team was represented Oct. 24 at the 6A Region 2 championships hosted by the University of Texas at Arlington in a meet held at Lynn Creek Park at Joe Pool Lake.
The Lady Hippos had one runner at regionals, Hutto sophomore Adia Majtyka, qualify for the event after she excelled at the previous 6A-District 12 meet Oct.
12 by placing seventh against runners from Bryan High School, Copperas Cove High School, Harker Heights High School, Midway High School, Pflugerville Weiss High School and Temple High School.
In a massive field of 172 entries for the girls’ 5,000-meter run Tuesday morning, Majtyka placed 106th with a time of 21:57.79.
