Second Saturday
Every second Saturday of the month, Taylor’s downtown businesses will be open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and offer in-store specials, live music, door prizes and other activities. The event is designed to encourage residents to become familiar with shops in the downtown area.
SPJST Lodge 29 Taylor
Every Friday, SPJST Lodge 29 hosts live music and dancing and serves hamburgers in its hall at 5025 FM 619. Bands play from 7:30-11:30 p.m.
Admission is free. SPJST is a fraternal organization. Residents can purchase life insurance, annuities or other items to become a member of the SPJST. The hall is open for business Wednesdays through Sundays from 3-10 p.m.
Cotton Country Club

Sunday bike rides
Every Sunday morning at 9 a.m., Taylor Bike Company hosts a bicycle ride, 204 N. Main St. The riding level is based on which riders show up.
Prepare for hot weather and sun exposure. Bring your bike, helmet, hat, sunglasses, tennis shoes and water bottles or a camelback. Expect hot weather and community togetherness.
Summer Sunday
Every Sunday, Black Sparrow Music Parlor will be opening their doors for fresh mimosas, cold brew and beer from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., 113 W.
Second St. The stage will be open for attendees with instruments. Outside food will be allowed for this low-key community event.
Weight-loss group
The Taylor Take Off Pounds Sensibly Chapter 1343 will have in-person meetings for their weight-loss support group Thursdays at 4:30 p.m. at Grace Place, 301 Grace Lane. Members are recommitting to their health journeys and invite others who have struggled with their weight to join them at the meeting. Attendees should use the office entrance to Grace Place.
Taylor Rotary Club Meals on Wheels The Taylor Rotary Club delivers Meals on Wheels the third Thursday of the month at noon out of the Taylor Senior Center, Lone Star Circle of Care, 1301 W.
Fourth St. They serve Taylor and Thrall.

American Legion Post 39

Milam Community Theater will present Almost, Maine by John Cariani Oct. 21, 22, 28 at Lester and Beatrice Williams Events Center, 408 S. Wednesday, Oct. 25 — At 6 p.m., Texas Parks and Wildlife will have a Little River-San Gabriel turkey meeting at Davilla Community Center, 20803 FM 487, Davilla. 10th Annual Main Street Car Show Saturday, Oct. 28 — From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., visit the largest car show in central Texas in downtown Taylor hosted by Main Street Car Show. Guests can peruse downtown shops and cool off with cold drinks. Tickets are $17.
Trick or treat
Saturday, Oct. 28 — From 6 to 8 p.m., Old Taylor High will host its fifth annual Trick or Treat where shops will be open for trick-or-treating and everyone is welcome to candy, eating, drinking, shopping and playing, 410 W. Seventh St.
Fall Carnival
Sunday, Oct. 29 — From 3-5 p.m., The First United Methodist Church will have a pumpkin patch with activities, 907 W. Lake Drive. There will be face painting, a costume contest, carnival games, hotdogs and trick or treating.

There will be tacos, a bounce house, games, a kids 100-yard-dash, Barbecue, live music, a birthday cake and more. Music on Main
Thursday, Nov. 16 — At 7 p.m., Bogle Family Vineyard and Taylor Arts will host the alternative rock’n’roll band named The Octopus Project with Midnight Butterfly for Music on Main, Heritage Square, 400 Main St.
Stargazing party
Friday, Nov. 17 — From 7-8:30 p.m., there will be a Taylor Stargazing Party in the Taylor Regional Park North Soccer Field, enter at 210 Carlos G Parker and in the soccer field parking lot, drive as far north as you can. The event is co-hosted by three people/ entities and offers thanks to surrounding areas for dimming their lights.
