Granger Farmer’s Market

The Granger Main Street Farmer’s Market meets every first and third Saturdays April through October from 10 a.m. to noon at the corner of W.

Davilla and Walton streets, Granger.

Fresh fruits, vegetables, jelly, canned and baked goods, eggs, artisan crafts and more are available.

Hutto Silos Farmer’s Market Year-round farmers market on Wednesdays with summer hours of 4 to 8 p.m. in the heart of downtown Hutto, 200 East St. and every Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Market Co-Op, 420 Highway 79. For more, visit https://huttofarmersmarket.org/.

Second saturday

Every second Saturday of the month, Taylor’s downtown businesses will be open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and offer in-store specials, live music, door prizes and other activities. The event is designed to encourage residents to become familiar with shops in the downtown area.

SPJST Lodge 29 Taylor

Every Friday, SPJST Lodge 29 hosts live music and dancing and serves hamburgers in its hall at 5025 FM 619. Bands play from 7:30 to 11:30 p.m.

Admission is free. SPJST is a fraternal organization. Residents can purchase life insurance, annuities or other items to become a member of the SPJST. The hall is open for business Wednesdays through Sundays from 3 to 10 p.m.

Cotton Country Club

Every weekend, the Cotton Country Club hosts live music, dancing and dine-in service in its hall at 212 E.

Sunday bike rides

Every Sunday morning at 9 a.m., Taylor Bike Company hosts a bicycle ride, 204 N. Main St. The riding level is based on which riders show up.

Prepare for hot weather and sun exposure. Bring your bike, helmet, hat, sunglasses, tennis shoes and water bottles or a camelback. Expect hot weather and community togetherness.

Summer Sunday

Every Sunday, Black Sparrow Music Parlor will be opening their doors for fresh mimosas, cold brew and beer from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., 113 W.

Second St. The stage will be open for attendees with instruments. Outside food will be allowed for this low-key community event.

Weight-loss group

The Taylor Take Off Pounds Sensibly Chapter 1343 will have in-person meetings for their weight-loss support group Thursdays at 4:30 p.m. at Grace Place, 301 Grace Lane. Members are recommitting to their health journeys and invite others who have struggled with their weight to join them at the meeting. Attendees should use the office entrance to Grace Place.

Taylor Rotary Club Meals on Wheels The Taylor Rotary Club delivers Meals on Wheels the third Thursday of the month at noon out of the Taylor Senior Center, Lone Star Circle of Care, 1301 W.

Fourth St. They serve Taylor and Thrall.

American Legion Post 39

American Legion Graham D. Luhn Post 39 holds monthly meetings on the first Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at its post building, 1310 Sycamore St. Veterans as well as American Legion members are invited to attend. For more, call 512-713-4543.

Church game nights

Every second, third and fourth Thursday at 7 p.m., New Sweden Evangelical Lutheran Church will host a game night, 12809 New Sweden Church Road. They welcome everyone to join in on the fun and fellowship with card games, ping pong and dominos. For more, call 512-281-0056.

Taylor Area Businesswomen The Taylor Area Businesswomen’s luncheon meetings are held at noon on the fourth Tuesday of the month at Gatti’s Pizza, 2708 N. Music on Main

Thursday, Oct. 19 — At 7 p.m., the Superfónicos are playing at Heritage Park, 400 S. Main St. The Superfónicos are a Columbian Funk band that mixes indigenous and African roots. There will be drinks for purchase and yard games for a community picnic.

Hutto Middle School Fall Fest Friday, Oct. 20 — From 5 to 7 p.m., Hutto Middle School Parent Teacher Student Association will host the 2023 Fall Fest, 1005 Exchange Blvd.

Basecamp 1, Hutto. There will be vendors, food trucks, community partners and games.

Community Play

Milam Community Theater will present Almost, Maine by John Cariani Oct. 21, 22, 28 at Lester and Beatrice Williams Events Center, 408 S. Columbus Ave. and Nov. 4 and 5 in Rockdale, Kay Theatre, 350 N. Main St., Rockdale. Saturday performances begin at 7 p.m. and Sunday shows at 2 p.m. Doors open 45 minutes prior to the show. Granger Chili Cook-Off

Saturday, Oct. 21 — From 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., the Granger Area Chamber of Commerce will host a chili cook-off at the Waterin’ Hole & FeedBag Restuarant, 111 E. Davilla St., Granger. Contestants must use propane stoves only, no trailers and no electricity, and have a fire extinguisher. Chili and Jackpot Beans entry fees are $25 each. Car and truck show entry fees are $10. Annual Montessori Fest

Saturday, Oct 21 — From 3 to 5 p.m., Montessori Kids Universe will host its Annual Fall Festival, 2100 Muirifield Bend Dr., Hutto. Séance session

Saturday, Oct. 21 — At 6:30 p.m. and 9 p.m., Curio Mrvosa and The Austin Séance will host two séance sessions at the Black Sparrow Music Parlor, 113 W. Park cleanup

Sunday, Oct. 22 — From 1 to 3 p.m., Taylor Parks and Recreation is hosting a park cleanup at Robinson Park, 206 S. Dolan St., meet at the pavilion on Doak Street. The focus will be picking up trash and cleaning the hike and bike trail heading north. It will be a healthy way to experience and appreciate nature. Wild turkey restocking

Wednesday, Oct. 25 — At 6 p.m., Texas Parks and Wildlife will have a Little River-San Gabriel turkey meeting at Davilla Community Center, 20803 FM 487, Davilla.

10th Annual Main Street Car Show Saturday, Oct. 28 — From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., visit the largest car show in central Texas in downtown Taylor hosted by Main Street Car Show. Guests can peruse downtown shops and cool off with cold drinks.

Tickets are $17.

Trick or treat

Saturday, Oct. 28 — From 6 to 8 p.m., Old Taylor High will host its 5th annual Trick or Treat where shops will be open for trick or treating and everyone is welcome to candy, eating, drinking, shopping and playing, 410 W. Seventh St.

Fall Carnival

Sunday, Oct. 29 — From 3 to 5 p.m., The First United Methodist Church will have a pumpkin patch with activities, 907 W. Lake Dr. There will be face painting, a costume contest, carnival games, hotdogs and trick or treating. All activities will be free but pumpkins, craft items and baked goods can be purchased.

Arbor Day

Saturday, Nov. 11 — From 9 to 11 a.m., Taylor Parks and Recreation is committed to the Tree City USA program to host an annual Arbor Day event in Taylor, Doak Park, 200 N.

Doak St. Volunteers will plant trees at the local park to enrich Taylor’s beauty and environmental benefit.

Stargazing party

Friday, Nov. 17 — From 7 to 8:30 p.m., there will be a Taylor Stargazing Party in the Taylor Regional Park North Soccer Field, enter at 210 Carlos G Parker and in the soccer field parking lot, drive as far north as you can.
