Willie H. Brinkmeyer, Jr.

Willie H. Brinkmeyer, Jr., age 87, passed away Sept. 17, 2023, at his home in Noack, surrounded by his family. Willie was so proud of his German heritage.

He was born Dec. 18, 1935, at home in Noack, to Willie and Annie Moehnke. He married his love, Dorothy Burrell Brinkmeyer June 26, 1965.

He grew up with his two older brothers and sister. Willie graduated from Thrall High School in 1954.

Willie served his country in the U.S. Army. Upon his discharge, he began his working career. Willie worked in construction for several years, then went on to work for TXDOT for 25 years until his retirement.

After retiring, Willie started raising his own cattle and owned a custom hay baling business with his sons. Willie also started a family - owned car wash business.

Willie loved the country life, country music, polka music and, most of all, his whole family far and near.

He and Dorothy still found time to travel to many different places.

Willie was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Albert and Alfred.

Willie is survived by his wife of 58 years, Dorothy; children, David Lawrence Brinkmeyer and John Albert Brinkmeyer; sister, Elvera Pekar; brothers-in-law, Larry Burrell, Nancy, Jim Burrell, Janet, Dennis Burrell, Linda, Jere Burrell, Theresa and Richard Burrell; sistersin- law, Jann O Flanagan, Mike, Patty, Seni, Lenny, Debbie Scott, Randy, Ruth Grate and Dwight; special niece, Debbie Adams; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Clint Adams, Carrol Adams, Sam Jones, Harlan Bachmayer, Richard Burrell and Steven Hubnik.

Visitation for Willie was held from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 22, followed by service at 2 p.m. at Providence Funeral Home in Taylor. Burial followed at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

A reception with meal was at the K.C. Hall in Taylor.

A special thanks to our special angels who cared for Willie during this past year including the doctors and nurses at Ascension Seton Hospital, Round Rock; the nurses and therapists at Accent Care; the nurses from Compassus Hospice Care; and the doctors, nurses and therapists at Baylor Scott & White, Taylor.
