On Saturday, Jan. 8, a car cruise will be held raise awareness about depression and anxiety.
GG’s Drive Out Silence Memorial Cruise will begin at 10 a.m. at Taylor High School.
“In this small town of Taylor, I believe suicide awareness is not often talked about,” said Elysia Robles, one of the organizers. “It’s a sensitive subject but the lack of awareness about depression and anxiety is the reason young adults have a hard time knowing about this illness and the ways to deal with it.”
All truck, car and motorcycles clubs are welcome. The cost is $20 per vehicle to enter the cruise. All proceeds will go towards a scholarship in memory of Geniveve Gonzales.
There will also be a silent auction, raffles and food and beverages available.
