Lending a helping hand

“S.P.J.S.T. Senior Living in Taylor has one of the best activity directors. Melissa R Meiske, keep up the good work. You are providing such wonderful exercise, both physically and mentally, as well as the laughter and smiles on their faces.”

— Kim Fross

“I’m so proud of my son. He saw a kid, whose name I now know is Conner, balled up into a corner, crying. So, he went to console him, grabbed his hand and walked him inside of the school. What we didn’t know was that he was autistic. His mother fears every day that someone will laugh at him because he doesn’t speak correctly, laugh at him because he doesn’t sit still or because he jumps up and down and flaps his hands. It is an honor to raise such a loving, compassionate child. He’s a kid with a big heart.

Conner’s reaction?

“He was so kind to me. I started crying and then he helped me. I was so happy. He found me and held my hand and I got happy tears.

“It doesn’t matter, you know, color. It doesn’t matter, gender.

It doesn’t matter, disability. Just be kind.

Open your heart. That’s what we need in this world. One act of kindness can change someone’s life.”

— April Gates

“Thank you Taylor Fire Department. I was trying to load something stupid heavy on the pickup and they stopped and helped.

When I say stupid heavy I mean they saw potential for a 911 call and rather than having to come back they just stopped and helped.

Appreciate you guys.”

— Thomas Rohlack
