GRANGER — It was a much-needed win on Saturday morning as the Granger High School varsity volleyball team was able to get the job done with a match victory in four sets at home vs. non-district foe Chilton High School.

Although the Lady Lions took care of business against the Lady Pirates 25-15 in the first set, Granger was back on its heels as Chilton rallied to take the second set 25-17 to even the match up at 1-1.

The rest of the way, Granger was able to get the job done as the Lady Lions won the third and fourth sets by a score of 25-12 to seal the deal at home and improve their overall record to 11-11 this 2023 season.

Granger continues to get great production out of seniors Tessa Burton, Jaila Rollie and Montana Moore making a big impact as well as junior Marissa Hall and sophomore Krista Hutka showing out every match.

The Lady Lions will have two more non-district matches this week: Tuesday night on the road at Georgetown Gateway College Preparatory School and 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 23 hosting Lometa High School. Granger will begin District 26-2A play the following week at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 26 on the road against 2A powerhouse Thrall High School.
