Taylor police promote new sergeant

On Sept. 6, the Taylor Police Department announced the promotion of its newest sergeant, Euteva Rousar. A ceremony celebrating the promotion was conducted Friday, Sept. 1, by Taylor Police Chief Henry Fluck at Taylor Public Library.

On Sept. 6, the Taylor Police Department announced the promotion of its newest sergeant, Euteva Rousar. A ceremony celebrating the promotion was conducted Friday, Sept. 1, by Taylor Police Chief Henry Fluck at Taylor Public Library.

Rousar was presented with her new badge and a certificate of promotion by Fluck who administered the official swearing-in.

Rousar has been with the department since 2013, having served in the ranks of police officer and police corporal. Rousar holds two Bachelor of Science degrees from Sam Houston State University, one in Biology and the other in Criminal Justice.

Rousar scored No. 1 on the recent Civil Service Promotional Exam for police sergeants.

The ceremony was attended by family members, as well as members of the Taylor Police Department, city of Taylor staff and local community members.
