Business will be booming in Taylor this weekend.
The Taylor Chamber of Commerce will host the 2023 East Wilco Business Expo Saturday, Sept. 9, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Williamson County Expo Center.
Over 65 companies will attend the expo and multiple companies seek to fill positions.
“This is the biggest job fair in the area for as many years as we can remember,” said Tia Stone, president of the Taylor Chamber of Commerce. “It will be an amazing place for people to find new jobs, explore new opportunities and learn about the growth that is coming to our community.”
The event is free to the public. Attendees can expect to hear about job opportunities, see plenty of booths and have a chance to win prizes.
“We are expecting 12 companies from South Korea that aren’t on the ground yet, but are looking for every kind of worker a new business needs,” Stone said.
The Chamber’s booth is focused on getting people to understand the benefits of working in Taylor, Stone said. The booth will have a “ there’s no place like home” theme from the Wizard of Oz.
Stone said the expo team has secured several characters to walk the floor taking pictures with young and old alike. Additionally, a vendor plans to have a racetrack for kids to play with.
Other vendors include the Taylor Press, the health department, local police and fire department. Sirloin Stockade will be in attendance with food.
