A jobs fair has always been part of the East Wilco Business Expo but this year, it has has hit 11 (This Is Spinal Tap reference).

Monday we started hearing from companies who are planning to move to our area from South Korea. And they want to get started hiring their future workforce in Taylor at the Sept. 9 event.

There will be job opportunities for people with a GED through PhD. If you have a marketable skills and would like to work in the area, bring your resume and come on.

Opportunities abound! In addition to the job fair, the health department will be there with information (and maybe inoculations), ____________________________ or other fun and games.

The committee has worked hard to get mascots to attend so it’s a great opportunity to get your child’s photo made with a giant Germ, HEB Buddy, characters from the Wizard of Oz, Mama Duck’s Baby Duck and others.

So plan to join us 10 a.m.2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, at the WilCo Expo Center, 5350 Bill Pickett Trail.

POWER BREAKFAST

We have our second, ever CEO Power Breakfast scheduled for Oct. 26 at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites.

Businessman and philanthropist Nyle Maxwell will be our speaker. He will address the challenges of leadership and growth in the community and for businesses.

Our spring 2024 Power Breakfast will focus, again, on the higher-level details of growth but we will always try to offer inspiration and encouragement at our Autumn event.

We are interested to know who you would like to hear from at these breakfasts.

If you want to attend, sponsor or offer an idea for a speaker/topic, email us at [email protected] or call 512-352-6364.

We are always happy to hear from you!
