Two-a-days are in the books, along with two scrimmages. Now it’s game time and the Thrall Tigers are ready to hit the field and make some noise.

“We’ve had two good scrimmages,” said Thrall Coach Aaron Vanecek.

“We have been able to see the kids do a lot of good and bad things, and they are working hard to improve every day.”

Thrall played their second scrimmage Thursday night against the Milano Eagles.

Vanecek said the Tigers looked good, controlling the ball offensively while dominating on defense against the Eagles. That gives him reason to believe that his team is ready for a good season.

“I love the energy of this team, and their togetherness,” Vanecek said. “Kids are embracing the challenge of the day-to-day grind.

Obviously, we are a little banged up, but everyone is looking forward to Week 1, and growing from there.”

Vanecek said the team has shown a lot of improvement, across the board. “Our seniors are in a really good spot,” he said. “And, our sophomores and juniors are stepping up, as well.”

The Tigers hit the field on Friday when they travel to Somerville to face the Yeguas in the season opener. The Yeguas made the playoffs last year and could be a challenge for the Tigers.

Thrall won last year’s game 47-8 in Thrall.
