“A hero is an ordinary individual who finds the strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles.”
– Christopher Reeve Shoutout to these beautiful children for saving their father’s live. Michael Gates was in his car with his children, when he suddenly became unresponsive due to an allergic reaction to multiple bee stings. His three children Lucas, Elia and Mateo knew they had to act fast.
The children were able to honk the vehicle’s horn and catch the attention of a neighbor who dialed 911.
Thanks to the children’s quick thinking and fast action, Taylor Fire Department Engine 2 and Williamson County Emergency Medical Services were able to respond quickly, which saved their father’s life. On Aug. 8, the Taylor Fire Department and Williamson County EMS honored Lukas, Elia, and Mateo for their selfless and heroic acts, and presented them with a welldeserved Certificate of Recognition.
