Taylor cross country opens season in Rockdale

ROCKDALE – The Taylor High School varsity and junior varsity cross country teams put all their hard work over the summer to the test on Aug. 18 as the Ducks and Lady Ducks competed on Friday morning at the Rockdale Invitational meet hosted by Rockdale High School.

ROCKDALE – The Taylor High School varsity and junior varsity cross country teams put all their hard work over the summer to the test on Aug. 18 as the Ducks and Lady Ducks competed on Friday morning at the Rockdale Invitational meet hosted by Rockdale High School.

Head coach Karmen Sanders and assistant coach Lawrence Bailey made the trip east on Highway 79 with their runners for the opening cross country meet of the year and did very well.

Competing against other schools from the area, the Lady Duck varsity girls placed second overall while the Ducks varsity boys placed third overall. Taylor junior varsity boys placed third overall, while the junior varsity girls placed fifth overall.

The Ducks and Lady Ducks will next take part in the Vista Ridge Invitational on Friday, Aug. 25 held in Cedar Park hosted by Cedar Ridge High School.
