Henrietta Hoopla

Saturday, Aug. 19 — From 6 to 10 p.m., Hutto Family YMCA will host a poker night where 100% of the funds raised will go toward scholarships for the Hutto community to participate in YMCA programs regardless of payment. There will be casino games, silent auction, games, reverse raffle and refreshments.

Child Watch Sign up

Saturday, Aug. 19 — From 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., Hutto Family YMCA is offering a sign-up session for parents who want to secure an infant and toddler daycare spot while they workout. Sign up is required for infant and toddler rooms only. Kid’s Gym and Zone no longer require reservations. Sign ups are offered in one-hour format, but members can book a total of two hours per day, per child. Child watch sports are open at first-come-first serve.

Free Sunrise Yoga

Sunday, Aug. 20 — Dwell House Coffee and Tap will host a 60-minute beginner Sunrise Vinyasa Yoga flow, 2100 Muirfield Bend Dr. Suite 125, Hutto. Free parking, bring your own mat, walk ups welcome and a special coffee and conversations session will be held after the event.

Tee off with the Lions

Saturday, Aug. 26 — The Taylor Lions Club will host a golf tournament at Mustang Creek Golf Course in Taylor. The event is a four-person select shot tournament. Entry is $125 per person, which includes green fees, golf cart, meal, beverage, tickets and prizes. The early bird special is $100 if paid before Aug. 1. National Dog Day

Saturday, August 26 — From noon to 8 p.m., Texas Beer Company will host a celebration for National Dog Day with $4 TBC’s specialty K9 lager on tap, 1331 W. Second St. A portion of the proceeds from every K9 pint or six-pack goes to K9s for Warriors, an organization that adopts dogs from high-kill shelters, trains them as service dogs and provides them for veterans with PTSD.

Sunday, Sept. 3 — From 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., SS Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church will host Granger’s Annual Bazaar at Parish Hall, 500 W. Davilla, Granger. An optional mass begins at 10 a.m., 100 N. Brazos St. The celebration includes a barbecue and sausage dinner, live auction and games including a cake walk, ring toss for sodas, toy booth and fishpond. CPR, First Aid, AED Certification Saturday, Sept. 9 — At 10 a.m., The American Legion, George Johns Post 447 will host a trifecta two-year certification. Tickets are $120 each and an online portion needs to be completed before the class day. To sign up, email [email protected].

East Wilco Business Expo & Job Fair

St. Mary’s Homecoming Celebration

Sunday, Sept. 10 — From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., St. Mary’s Catholic School will host a fall festival and Homecoming Celebration at the St. Mary’s Parish and School Grounds, 304 E. Fifth St. From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., a $15 barbecue plate will be available with an optional dessert for donation. There will be live music, concessions, raffle drawing, live auction, games and a silent auction.
