On July 10, 2023, God called Cherry Lynn (Menzel) Tag home.
Cherry was born Feb. 6, 1957 to Cecil and Shirley (Moerbe) Menzel in Taylor. She was baptized at St. Paul Lutheran in Thorndale, and confirmed her faith at Redeemer Lutheran in Lubbock.
She grew up in Thorndale, Slaton and Bokchito, Oklahoma.
Cherry graduated with honors from Bokchito High School.
Cherry worked as a dental assistant for 30 years, and she loved to read.
On Feb. 5, 2000, she married Ronny Tag.
She is preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
She is survived by her husband, Ronny Tag; children, Justin Davidson (Kim Adkin) and Rheannon Pierce and husband Ricky Pierce; stepchildren, David Tag and wife Kara, Amy Verworn and husband Brodie, and Rachel Tag and husband Nathan; grandchildren, Jackson and Ashlyn, Isaac; brother, Frank Menzel and wife Mary; sister, Lori Lanfear and husband Karry; nieces and nephews, Clay Menzel and wife Nicholette, Leslie Hubbard and husband Aaron and Cheyanne Lanfear; her granddogs, Stumpy, Winnie and Binx; and numerous first cousins and extended family.
