The Back 2 Skool Free Hair Day will be held Sunday, Aug. 6, from noon to 6 p.m. at he park and recreation building at Memorial Field, 1412 Davis St. in Taylor.

Hosted by Shareeta Fairley and the Braided Faded Crew, the event is to provide hairs cuts and hairstyles for students going back to school.

Crew members believe that when a students looks good, they feel good and they have confidence in class.

Eleven years when the event originated, it was held at the Dickey-Givens Community Center in Fannie Robinson Park. Over the years, it has evolved and relocated from the previous community center to the new community center to various churches and other buildings in town.

One thing that has remained is the service to the students in the community.

Along with doing hair, the Crew will also have snacks and drinks for children and a bounce house.
