Maria “Mary” Leonila Daniels

Maria “Mary” Leonila Daniels passed away peacefully July 24, 2023, due to complications of a hip fracture and Alzheimer’s disease. Mary was born June 6, 1951, in Edinburg, to Manuel and Elena Dominguez.

Maria “Mary” Leonila Daniels passed away peacefully July 24, 2023, due to complications of a hip fracture and Alzheimer’s disease. Mary was born June 6, 1951, in Edinburg, to Manuel and Elena Dominguez.

She graduated from Cross Plains High School in 1969. She then moved to Forth Worth, where she worked for various grocery stores. Then moved to Taylor, where she started working for H-E-B grocery store. She also worked at the Pflugerville H-E-B. She retired after 22 years of working for H-E-B.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Manuel and Elena Dominguez; son, Christopher Ortega; sister, Florinda Gamez and her husband, Chicho; sister, Lupe Hernandez; brother, Abel Dominguez and his wife, Lorraine; brother, Amelio Dominguez and his wife, Mary; brother, Amador Dominguez; brother, Alex Dominguez; baby brother, Albert Dominguez; brother-in-law, Joe Flores; niece, Cindy Barrett; niece, Carol Perez; nephew, Bobby Hogue; and nephew, Joel Gamez.

Mary is survived by her son, Grant Daniels; Grant’s dad, Gary Daniels; daughter-inlaw, Patricia Ortega; sister, Susie Lester; sister, Lola Flores; sister, Aurora Redding and husband, Charlie; daughter, Charlie Elena Redding; sister-in-law, Mary Dominguez, and lots of nephews and nieces.

Rosary will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 14, at Providence Funeral Home, 807 Carlos G. Parker Boulevard NW in Taylor.

A funeral service will be Tuesday, Aug. 15, at 2 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 110 W. Rio Grande St. in Taylor, followed by interment at Guadalupe Cemetery.

Family and friends are invited to the church Hall after the graveside service for a meal.
