Lois Elaine (Poldrack) Lenz

Lois Elaine (Poldrack) Lenz was born July 24, 1941, in Taylor, at Stromberg Clinic & Hospital, the daughter of Lucy and Charlie Poldrack. Lois went home to the Lord Friday, July 28, at the Viera Assisted Living in Corpus Christi, four days after celebrating her 82nd birthday.

Lois Elaine (Poldrack) Lenz was born July 24, 1941, in Taylor, at Stromberg Clinic & Hospital, the daughter of Lucy and Charlie Poldrack. Lois went home to the Lord Friday, July 28, at the Viera Assisted Living in Corpus Christi, four days after celebrating her 82nd birthday.

She was baptized and confirmed in the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Taylor. She received first communion Oct. 25, 1953.

On Aug. 1, 1959, at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church at Wuthrich Hill, she married Herman “Pee Wee” Lenz. They were married for 43 years.

Lois lived in the Beyersville and Coupland communities growing up, and attended Coupland School. In 1959, she graduated from Taylor High School.

She worked at First Taylor National Bank as a proof operator through 1990. In 1991, she went to work for Taylor Motor Company (now Covert, Hutto) as a clerk in the accounting and title office and remained there until mid 2020.

Lois enjoyed going to church, reading the Bible and daily devotions, hanging out with her friends and playing games. She also enjoyed working in her yard, picking and shelling pecans from her trees, working with her pot plants, sewing and cooking. She enjoyed making and eating all kinds of desserts. She was famous for her homemade Christmas Trash.

She loved to teach life lessons thru examples of everyday life.

She was preceded in death, by her husband, by her parents, her brother, Leroy Poldrack; her sister-n-law, Ruby Lee Poldrack; her sister-nlaw, LaNell Poldrack; her sister, Corrine Haverland and her brother-n-law, Edmond Haverland; her brother, Rueben Poldrack; and one niece.

Lois is survived by one son, Bradley Lenz of Corpus Christi; a grand dog, Pressly; a brother, Melvin Poldrack of Coupland; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Providence Funeral Home, with burial in the Taylor City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 7, at Providence Funeral Home, 807 Carlos G Parker Boulevard NW in Taylor.

A funeral service will be Tuesday, Aug. 8 at 10 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church 401 West Seventh Street in Taylor. Officiating is Pastor George Qualley St. Paul Lutheran Church, Glenda Vanacek, organist.

Pallbearers will be Larry Poldrack, Craig Smith, David Tidwell, Terry Poldrack, Hunter Poldrack and Doug Weiss. Honorary pallbearers will be Denney Poldrack, Greg Haverland and Clay Haverland.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Lois Lenz to St. Paul Lutheran Church, or to Texas A&M Corpus Christi Foundation at 6300 Ocean Drive, Unit 5741 Corpus Christi, Texas 78412
