A once in a lifetime event happened this past Tuesday.
On Feb. 22, the numerical date in American English format was 2/22/22, although the format is used in other countries as well. In addition to repetition of the number two, the date is a palindrome and can be read backward and forward. It also coincidentally happened on a Tuesday, which led to many around the world to refer Feb. 22 as Twos-day.
Many celebrated the rare occurrence in different ways, including Thrall Elementary School in Thrall. Students and staff dressed in ways that lent itself to the number two or the date itself.
It will be a hundred years before the numerical date repeats — Feb. 22, 2122.
