Thrall ready to Meet the Tigers

THRALL – Thrall High School has an important upcoming date at 7 p.m. on Friday, Aug.

THRALL – Thrall High School has an important upcoming date at 7 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 4 as the Tigers and Tigerettes are scheduled to host the annual Meet the Tigers event.

This will be an introduction to Thrall athletics at Tiger Stadium as football, volleyball, cross country, cheer, band, color guard and more will get to take the field in front of the community.

At the conclusion of Meet the Tigers, there will be an ice cream social hosted by the Thrall Athletic Booster Club held at the Tiger Stadium concession stand.

This is a very exciting time of year for Thrall as students will return to school and athletics. Tigerettes volleyball under head coach Bethany Grissom is coming off a great 2022 season in which Thrall reached the regional semifinals but the team lost six seniors from last year’s team to graduation.

As for Tigers football with head coach Aaron Vanecek at the helm, Thrall is looking to get back to the playoffs following a tough season in which the team finished with a 3-7 overall record to miss out on the postseason.

Tigerettes volleyball will have its first scrimmage on the road at Taylor High School on Aug. 4, Tigers football will scrimmage at Brentwood Christian School in Austin on Aug. 12 and Thrall cross country will have its first meet of the season on Aug. 19 at the Mud, Sweat and Cheers Relay hosted by Caldwell High School.
