Taylor Independent School District school trustees will begin the process of selecting a replacement for Superintendent Devin Padavil at their July 24 meeting. Padavil has been named the lone finalist for superintendent of the Georgetown Independent School District after serving for two and a half years as superintendent of Taylor ISD.
“On behalf of the Taylor ISD Board of Trustees, we would like to thank Dr. Padavil for his hard work and dedication to the Taylor community,” said board president, Marco Ortiz. “We wish him continued success as he begins his new role in Georgetown.”
The board’s first priority will be to select an interim superintendent to facilitate a smooth transition into the new school year. They will also discuss options for a search process to select the person who will serve as the 20th superintendent of the Taylor schools.
While the board may recess into closed session to discuss items relating to personnel, any action will be taken in open session.
Padavil is expected to begin his new role following a mandatory 21-day waiting period. The Georgetown board has announced plans to vote on hiring Padavil during a regular scheduled meeting on Aug. 7.
The Taylor ISD board will meet Monday, July 24, at 7 p.m. in the boardroom at 3101 North Main Street. To view the meeting online, the link “Stream the Board Meeting” may be found at www.taylorisd.org under the “Board” tab.
