The Granger Lady Lions softball team has yet to be scored on in the 2022 season. After downing Lago Vista 6-0 in their opener, Granger shutdown Mumford last Tuesday 13-0 to move to 2-0 on the season.
The Lady Lions took a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning and then blew up for nine runs in the second inning take to extend their lead to an even dozen at 12-0.
Granger added one more run in their half of the third inning for good measure to close out the contest.
Sophomore, Payton Filla finished a perfect 3-for-3 in the game at the plate including a three-bagger.
Pitcher Alex Harwell had five strikeouts in the game. Amayah Simien picked up the save for the Lady Lions striking out three batters. Mattie Wilkie had a home run finishing the night 2-for-3.
Montana Moore and Simien hit a double each. Filla, Simien and Moore had three RBIs each and Marissa Luna had two RBIs.
The Lady Lions were back in action this weekend Feb. 24-26 at the Cameron Tournament.
